Red Möbius

Installed in front of the Divan Complex in Qom, this permanent public sculpture was designed and fabricated by Hassan Pishahang as a contemporary urban landmark.

The form is based on the continuous geometry of a Möbius loop, suggesting movement, connection, and transformation. Its open center frames changing views of the building, the surrounding plaza, and the people moving through the site, allowing the sculpture to become part of the relationship between architecture and public life.

The work responds to the Divan Complex’s concept of a dynamic boundary—an architecture that connects rather than separates interior space from the city. Positioned at the main public entrance, the sculpture creates a strong visual point of arrival while inviting pause, movement, and interaction.

Fabricated using durable materials and finished with an automotive-grade coating, the sculpture was developed for long-term outdoor exposure, structural stability, and color retention in a high-traffic public environment.
